Just bragging
Ariel and I returned from our honeymoon to finally open our presents. We got many great gifts from friends and family but I must admit that this here was the gift we were hoping for but did not expect. Wow! Nicole Georges! Thank you so much!

Austin, TX
Married life! Ariel and I have been enjoying Austin post SXSW... That bird is a Long-tailed Grackle and they're everywhere. They also seem to be the most noisy and intelligent birds I've ever seen. That food is from Casa De Luz... probably one of the best meals I've ever had... The best part was the tamale pie with the cilantro sauce and the cauliflower soup. 100% gluten free, vegan, macrobiotic, and cheap! Austin is so cheap for food.

explode into colors show
So I finally, last night, got to see Explode Into Colors play at Holocene. It was a really good show and maybe it's just cause I haven't been to a show in ages... The band only has a few 7"s out but their live set is pretty rad.

graduate school
This is a little story I wrote for my literacy class where we discuss best practice to help kids become better readers and writers. I was going to make a joke about how "this is what you do in graduate school..." but that would be a big lie. This has been the toughest year in my life and this little story is just a little fun thing I got to do. Probably the only real bit of creativity I've had in the past 8 months.
This story is based on our cats and a neighborhood cat named Jake. I changed the name and gender to make it more of a love story but in reality I think my cats want to beat up Jake. I don't know why I keep writing stories about cats. It's just so fun and easy.
As far as my blog goes, I'm finally enabling comments.

glory days of animation
Sorry folks for not posting ANYTHING in forever. I am full time in graduate school for teaching. I am getting married. I am editing the new Super Crazy Cat Dance Book. I am doing a lot of blank. Here's an episode of Pingu, a Swiss stop-motion TV show that thoroughly inspired me back in the day for it's energy and sheer absurdity. I got the fortunate chance to see it screened at the Annecy Animation Festival in 2004.
